Hmmm. . .

When I buried Hope, I chose a spot right off the corner of the porch where she loved to just lay and watch for squirrels, spy on the neighbors and spend time relaxing with me.
I picked that spot because it was one of her favorite places to be but also because now, when I sit there--which I find I don't do nearly as much without her--I think of her.

This gorgeous camelia bush grows and blooms right near the spot.

With the exception of one bloom, all of the flowers that have fallen near her spot have landed as if placed lovingly on her grave marker.  I find that curious and touching and somehow expected all at once.

Snow Day!

Just about everyone I know is tired of winter.  It seems as if all I hear is "I can't wait until Spring".  In a way, I can kind of understand--winter in this part of North Carolina can get a little dreary. But I always hold out hope for at least one big snow.

I realize "big snow" is relative. What I consider big here, would just be a dusting in somewhere like Montana.  But I'll take what I can get.

So, now I guess I can say I'm ready for Spring too. But secretly, I really wouldn't mind another "big" snow.

January Giveaway

Inspired by Nature. . .

This month's giveaway is this pair of earrings inspired by the rich red berries of winter.  This morning, I was watching the cardinals darting in and out of the bushes after these little beauties and was instantly inspired.
To enter, just leave a comment here or on Facebook.
I'll announce the winner on Jan 31.
Good luck!
